So construction on Gramma's road began today with a thick layer of some gray dusty stuff spread out onto about 2/3 of harmony ranch. good news: yay! construction has started and the road will be finished by friday! bad news: Gramma didnt park her car far enough down the road.. or even OFF the road. So this morning we walked down the side of the road to go move the car... until we got to the culvert... which is when we had to walk ON the road therefore in the 9 inches of dust. We were literally wading through the stuff just to get to a car that was just within two or three arms' reach. We finally reached the car and i had dust ALL over my skully shoes and coating the bottom few inches of my jeans. When we got to the car, Gramma didnt want me in her car getting it dirty, so she told me to ''stay there'' while she moved it farther down the road towards the gate. But she ended up stopping by a neighbor who was outside and she talked to him for a while, while i walked up to the car without her noticing. I got to the car and it was coated in dust... WHY???? honestly, those workers are NOT neat people.
i plan on telling my mom i have this blog now
in the future
i promise. hold me to it, ok?
she has one of these and i thought that they're nicer blogs than on myspace.
so anyways, im spending the night here at my gramma's and i just got back from a very exciting and wonderful ride in the jeep. well, my gramma was in the passenger seat. i was the one in the front seat probably confusing the neighbors by driving back and forth four times past their houses, sometimes stopping and backing up into their driveways only to turn around and drive off psychotically. my gramma says that i drive really well and that i parked the jeep in the garage a lot better than she would've. inside my head, i was throwing a party for my first real driving accomplishment: parking straight.. in a garage. oh yeah... go me. i think that deserves some ice cream later.. with extra chocolate powder. YUM.
So a couple of my friends (Shalise and Kirstie) and I went to the mall on Saturday and had a lot of fun. We went to the Nordstrom's there and had fun making all the rich snobby people stare at us. We obviously didnt fit in. I made sure to talk about how my jeans were only $14 and how my top was only $5... loudly. I thought it was a little absurd that there was a baby grand by the escalators... no one was playing it... and yet there was a recording of piano music on the p.a. So, Kirstie and I decided that we should pick out outfits for eachother and then switch bundles and then try them on to see how fabulous (and how close to eachother's styles) we can get. But when we each had an armload of clothes a bunch of blonde lipsticked ladies kept coming up and practically yelling at us if we needed a dressing room. I thought they were just annoying people who were trying to well... annoy us. Little did I know that they had the keys to the dressing rooms. I'm not used to that kind of treatment. So after we gaggled at the $50 tank tops we ended up sharing a dressing room, which was a lot roomier and nicer than the ones at wal mart. I realized that Kirstie knows me very well and she picked out the PERFECT plaid bermudas that went VERY well with the striped stockings i was already wearing. i looked at the pricetag: $28.. after price reduction. it was pretty painful to take them off.. along with the very clashing $50 tank top. But i got over it, later i had a strawberry iced mocha and a mean bean java monster.. that made me feel high class enough for the day.
So yearbook camp (MediaMania for all the outsiders out there) starts two weeks from today. Last year we stayed in two story suites that were literally falling apart. My friend Deva and I stayed in the top story and we ''thought'' we had the luxury of a balcony with the lovely wooden door .. chipped and peeling paint included, so we opened the door to reveal a coupla stoners from downstairs having their own.. well... good time. That freaked us out JUST A LITTLE. so we kept that door double locked the entire time. THIS year, we're staying in the Crown Plaza. That just SOUNDS high class... im told it is... that makes me sooo happy.. i just like the sound of high class considering, well, im not. And instead of the 6 from last year (4 have graduated leaving Deva and me) there are 10 this year, 6 of which i cant stand. im praying i dont end up in the same room as one or two of those six. i know ill end up with deva considering this year she's editor and i'm assistant editor.
i am going to have SO much fun i just know it. And the best part? it's high class fun yo
